This Lovecraftian story, best known for its appearance in the anthology, Shadows Over Innsmouth, was first published two years earlier in the Official Souvenir Programme for Reminiscon 40. It was free to anyone attending the convention, which occurred on 5th September, 1992, but was also made available for sale at £5 or $10. The event celebrated 'Lionel Fanthorpe's 40 years as an author in print' and, in addition to Fanthorpe, featured three guest speakers: Guy and two science fiction writers, Brian W. Aldiss and Brian Stableford.
This uncharacteristic romance story was included in the official souvenir booklet of the 1st UK Paperback and Pulp Bookfair, which was held in London on 7th September, 1991, where Guy was a guest. |
